Custom Breather Tank

For some reason after the motor was freshened up after some minor damage at the Memorial Day BOR, the motor started pushing more oil out of the valve cover vent hoses than it used to. Since the motor is apparently running well, I decided not to fight with it and simply build a new breather tank with more capacity. The one used previously was a round cylinder with just under a quart capacity. The new one is just over 2 quarts and still fits behind the shroud. Both valve covers vent to the top of the tank, with the bottom hose acting as a return via the filler neck

Made from sheet aluminum and Earl's weld bungs. It uses a Moroso push-in breather cap
